The Sea
This is an endless subject, covering the make-up of the sea, animals/fish species, fishing, surfing, life-saving, all boats - e.g. tug boats, yachts, WWII ships, submarines, cruise liners - famous wrecks, tides, ghost ships etc – should be interesting and fun.

Areas of interest could include recent advances in medicine, physics, neuroscience, agriculture, zoology, ecology, etcetera - anything that doesn’t intrude on the existing Astronomy or Geology groups. An existing knowledge of science subjects is not needed.

The purpose of this group is to enjoy photography whilst learning how to improve our photographic skills and becoming more proficient in the use of digital cameras. Our meetings are arranged for indoors where we discuss themerits of our photographic efforts whilst viewing them using a PowerPoint presentation,  on occasions we substitute our indoor meeting with an outing to a chosen place of interest, for the purpose of taking photographs.

This is a six session course, based on Mike Patterson’s book, “With Love ..gifting your stories to your grandchildren.” Of course you don’t have to have grandchildren in order to join. Your stories could be for nieces, nephews or just writing for your own pleasure. At each session of just over two hours participants are expected to read a memoir which will be shared with the group. Particular aspects of writing are discussed and positive critique is given.

Tauranga Continuing Education Group

Tauranga Continuing Education Group aims to Providing older people with an opportunity to listen to prominent New Zealanders discussing topics of interest.  Many of the speakers come from the University of Waikato and others from business and local organisations.

Meetings are held at the Otumoetai Baptist Church, 241 Otumoetai Road, Tauranga, commencing at 10.00am 3rd Tuesday of the month.
