U3A is an international organisation for people in retirement to share creative, cultural, physical and leisure interests. In Tauranga there are approximately 1000 members and around 100 interest groups. Find out more Here

Art & Design

The group examines, local and overseas buildings and cities from the view point of their architectural styles, design achievements and their place in history – the scope is wide. Contributions from group members are encouraged and are usually presented using the U3A projector and screen.

We work to discover more about various art media and how to use them.  We have tutors for water colour painting, oil painting, drawing and composition, pen and wash, and pastels.  When no tutor is available the session is self-directed.  We follow our own preferences on work we have planned at home.
