Hi all,
Autumn is well and truly here now so on our next walk we should see autumn colours in the trees at McLaren Lake. This Is an easy walk and for those of us that cannot walk the full distance there is an opportunity to do part of the walk. (yes, I have long Covid and not as fit as I should be and get tired very easily)
Bring your phone or cameras for photos, it is a great time of year for photos there.
Start. The start will be in the car park by the cafe / Info building at Lake McLaren which is just past the McLaren Falls.
Start time as usual 10am at the venue.
Distance. From memory the complete walk is just over 1 1/2 hours. We will be walking along the lakefront as far as we can and including the waterfall walk.
Footwear. Walking shoes or boots, your choice. The terrain is all gravel. Walking poles if you want them.
Cafe for lunch afterwards will be where we park.
Toilets - yes, plenty on the walk
Car Pooling - I will have room for 4 people leaving from Omokoroa, via Bethlehem if necessary, Poripori Rd to the walk. Contact me if you want a ride on 021 159 5613 or email me. I will be leaving Omokoroa around 9am - traffic???
