Twelve members of Photography Group 1 started the year with a field trip to Omokoroa and invited members of the Photo Fun Group to join us as well.

Photography Group 2, (whose idea it was to hold a joint field trip), decided not to come at the last minute – a shame as the weather was perfect for photography with an overcast, windless day and warm temperatures.
We all met at the Omokoroa wharf and went our separate ways for 1½ hours. Omokoroa turned out to be the perfect location with a wide variety of photo opportunities including seascapes, landscapes, reflections, birdlife, people and bush. We had lunch on the waterfront and watched a large group of youths from Huntly arrive and launch their wakas before they set out to Matakana Island for the week.
Many photos were taken and the members choices will feature at our meeting next Tuesday, so keep an eye on the web page next week for a gallery of our photos taken at Omokoroa.
