On the 14th October, 2017, 12 members of the Weekend Walkers met and carpooled to Rotorua Lakefront where 5 others joined us.
After a snack we set off along the waterfront around the lake edge past the back of Government Gardens, through the bush viewed seagulls nesting and found a place to enjoy our lunches picnic style alongside the stream. We continued onto Whaka and visited the bridge where years ago children jumped for pennies thrown into the stream. Icecreams at the BP Service Station whilst waiting for the bus to take us back into the CBD. Rotorua had held a Tulip Festival the previous week and there were still many tulip gardens in flower. Yachts were racing on the lake.
The day had a beautifully blue sky no wind and just like a warm summers day.
Thank you all for making this a great day out.
