On Saturday 13th January 14 members carpooled to Lake Okareka.
The cloud was high so the day was good for a walk.
At the end of the 2.5km walkway at the end of the Lake we had our lunch. 3 walkers passed by and went through a gate with no signage into a paddock so we followed them.

This led to a new pipe that was being installed to take excess water out of the lake which was very high after the rain. We continued and found the end of the track leading to a road with a construction sign saying no entry.
We decided to travel on to Lake Tarawera where some had coffees and some icecreams. A great day out.
