Lone Rangers is a group for 'Solo Senior Travellers' to meet each other with the aim of finding new friends to travel with.So many times I have heard people say-"I would go to India,(Rarotonga,Invercargill,Europe etc.) but I don't want to go on my own. This is a 'Member Participation" group where you,as a member do the planning,-not just the Convener.

The group formed in Nov. last year with membership numbers staying around 30.We had 9 new members in the last 2 months.A group of us had a fun weekend at "Balloons Over Waikato",-there is a group all booked and rearing to go to Art Deco in Feb.2016,and another group of around 10 exploring Tasmania in October 2016.There were also many members who travelled sometimes independently of the group,to Europe,Norfolk Island,Australia,Canada etc. There will be more trips both overseas and in our own back yard this summer and further in to next year.In order to have opportunities to get to know each other better,we also have Saturday evening dinners ,Sunday lunches and movies outings.
Our meetings are relaxed and fun and held in The Raft boardroom on Chapel St.(by Briscoes) the 2nd Monday of the month at 9:30 am.We buy a cup of tea/ coffee and food if you wish which means we are able to use the room free of charge.
