The Ukulele Group began with just 7 members in February 2015 and has already grown to 34.
With lots of interest coming from existing U3A members we quickly realised that we needed a venue and have been meeting weekly on a Monday afternoon in the Pavillon on Cliff Road.

The success  of the group is largely due to Reg Clothier who looks after the musical side of things and Robert Lucas who sets up the venue each week and makes sure we all enjoy our refreshment break at half time.
As people continue to show interest in joining the group we will hold a couple of Beginners' groups during 2016 to enable those who are new to the ukulele or those who haven't played for sometime to get up to speed before joining in with the main group.
Where we go from here is anyone's guess but we all enjoy our weekly gig and going by the noise we create it sounds like lots of fun too.
