These pictures taken at Sanctuary Mountain at Maungatautari on 12 May.  This is a 3,400 hectare bird sanctuary surrounded by a 4.7Km predator fence located near Arapuni.

 Only 8 members of Hikers 2 were able to attend but it was an interesting walk through an area of unspoiled bush. Unfortunately at this time of year there was not a great deal of native bird life present. It is a very lovely area well worth a visit.  The pictures were taken at the top of a 26 metre high wooden viewing platform constructed with finance provided by Lions Clubs in the Waikato area.
