U3A have two Yoga groups. The groups are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings on a weekly basis. Both groups are held at central locations. We are privileged to have Maria Kerewaro as our instructor. Maria has developed practice sequences that strengthen and balance the whole body without being too demanding for older bodies.
We do warm ups with gentle stretching and coordinated breathing. The physical poses are very manageable, Maria is not judgemental around how our poses look rather she encourages us to connect with our physical body through breath and becoming present . The classes end with a relaxation time to allow the body to rest and wind down. We are keen to have more people join our groups.
