A huge area around 300 hectares 20 odd bait lines a huge project. It was very cold so we all wrapped up as you can see in the photos. We met Colin and he talked about the projects their group does and then we set off. The track was very muddy in places and even puddles which we had to negotiate. The bush was very dense in parts and dark and other parts the track was out in the open. Colin talked and showed us the bait traps and apparently and the rats liked "Pix Peanut Butter" the possums had a different bait. DOC has contracted out the job of creating more tracks to make this a great area for all to enjoy. We saw the digger and progress being done. I asked Colin to keep in touch on the progress and we hope to go there again when all complete. Thank you all for coming and thank you Issy for organising this adventure.
