U3A Cycle Group Karangahake Gorge 26th Feb.

7 members met at Waihi Railway Station on a hot sunny day. The lunches and torches were loaded into a car boot and were carefully transported.

First stop Waikino Railway Station for coffee and morning tea. Then along the riverside over the bridge and into the tunnel. There were new extra lights in the tunnel ceiling so the torches not really required. Returned back through the tunnel meeting 2 ladies with black pushchairs which were hard to see. Then on our way back to Victoria Battery for our lunch break. The support car was waiting with our lunches. It was a hard slog back to the Waihi Railway Station a total of 31km.

All the riders enjoyed the day out. Tap or click on an image to see it full size plus other opttions.
