U3A Tauranga Cycle Group planned a day at Lake Karapiro, 27th May.

The weather forecast was to be fine in the morning so off we all went to meet at Lake Karapiro Domain. The drizzle
started so we waited. It stopped so off we went only to find the drizzle set in again. We changed out of our wet
clothes and then we had morning tea under a shelter.

 

We then decided to drive to the Veladrome. We were entertained by a group cycling around the track with their coach. We had our lunch and watched the Olympic womens sprint team in action. We looked at the variety of cycles for sale

 

Some then went to the Cambridge shops and others travelled home at their leisure. A shame the weather was not at its best to show off the beautiful autumn leaves on the huge trees.

 

We will return next year.  Thank you all for coming.
