U3A Ukulele Waihi to Waikino Train Trip 2nd July

Katikati Ukulele Group invited the U3A Ukulele Group to join them on an adventure.

They all met at the Waihi Railway Station at 10am ready to board the vintage train to Waikino Station and return. Many were dressed in retro type clothing.  The ukuleles were playing on the train. Morning tea at the Waikino Station by the warming fire and then the jam session continued until the guard blew his whistle and back on the train to continue playing on the return.

On arriving at Waihi they all drove to Stirling Hotel for lunch. Guinness Hot pot, fish and chips and other dishes were for lunch along with a glass of beverage. After lunch all moved to the lounge area sitting in comfortable seats and continued to play. A guy passing by heard the music and came and asked if he could bring his violin and  join in which he did. The hotel patrons were entertained.

Time to say goodbye and set off home. What a great sunny winters day.

Thanks for coming.   Eileen and Robert co conveners
