A good day was had by 11 walkers from the Mini Hikers group who ventured up the Otanewainuku Lookout Track.

We took our time and admired the beautiful bush and the many robins flying around and perching on branches quite close by.   A number of other birds were also spotted.   We took the right-hand fork going up to the trig station which is quite steep in parts and came down the other side with several large steps to clamber down.
 
Lunch was eaten back at the car park followed by a walk around the Rimu Loop track and again we spotted many black robins.
 
We were invited back to Anton & Emmie’s beautiful home for afternoon tea so we were very spoilt!   Thank you to Anton & Emmie and also to Thelma for organizing the walk.
